Jacob Denney delivered a perfect points night at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway on September 28, winning Round 3 of the ICL 305 Sprint National Tour. Returning for his first recorded ICL appearance since June 3, Denney earned Quick Time, started on the pole and led all 30 laps. He also recorded the fastest race lap at 13.4475 seconds, collecting the maximum 13 points in his first start of Season 3.
Denney finished 5.6371 seconds ahead of Parker Leek, who advanced from third to second. Seth Gregory gained one position to complete the podium in third, finishing 11.1655 seconds behind the winner. The result gives the National Tour three different winners in three races, with Denney joining Knoxville winner Brayden E Carter and I-55 winner Sean Stevens.
Dean Reynolds produced the largest climb through the 12-car field, advancing from 12th to fourth to earn Hard Charger honors. Making his first recorded ICL start since March 29, Reynolds completed all 30 laps and collected nine championship points. His return also produced the largest ICLR gain of the event: an increase of 501 moved him from 2,270 to 2,771 and lifted his overall ranking from 104th to 67th.
Kaleb Wyrick finished fifth in his first recorded ICL start, gaining three positions from eighth on the grid. Jaxon Raudabaugh was classified sixth in his 10th recorded ICL appearance, one position ahead of championship leader Carter. Tanner Ashmore finished eighth in his first recorded ICL start, followed by Tyler McKim and James Ferrin. Dale Farness and Matthew Rogers12 completed the finishing order.
The sixth- and seventh-place results for Raudabaugh and Carter tightened the championship battle. Raudabaugh earned seven points to Carter’s six, reducing the gap from three points to two. Carter remains the leader with 30 points, while Raudabaugh sits second with 28. Both drivers have competed in all three rounds, and their earlier podium finishes continue to give them an advantage over the rest of the standings.
Andrew K. Bogusz holds third with 14 points, but Denney’s maximum score places him fourth with 13—just one point behind Bogusz after a single appearance. Stevens and Reece Raudabaugh follow with 12 points each. Leek enters the standings seventh with 11, while Michael Nolf and Gregory have 10 apiece. Reynolds completes the Top 10 with nine points.
Beyond the championship, Kern brought several notable moves in the overall ICLR rankings. Denney climbed from 59th to 41st, Gregory advanced from 22nd to 17th, and Leek moved from sixth to fifth. Seven drivers gained ICLR in an event carrying an ICL Strength of Field of 2,731.5.
Three rounds into Season 3, the tour has produced three winners while its leading championship contenders are separated by just two points. With 12 points awarded for a victory and another available for Quick Time, qualifying remains a meaningful part of that contest. Denney demonstrated the value of collecting both at Kern, immediately putting himself among the leading names in the standings.
