Sean Stevens made a winning return to ICL competition on September 23, capturing Round 2 of the ICL 305 Sprint National Tour at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55. Making his first recorded ICL start since April 23, 2024, Stevens started third, led all 30 laps and recorded the fastest race lap to claim his first victory of Season 3.
The opening lap brought a major setback for polesitter Riley Scrivens. After earning Quick Time with an 11.5253-second qualifying lap, Scrivens and Stevens came together on lap one, ending Scrivens’ night. Scrivens finished 13th and collected two points, including his qualifying bonus. Stevens continued and was credited with every lap led, finishing ahead of championship leader Brayden E Carter.
Carter followed his Knoxville victory with a runner-up finish at I-55, giving him two podium finishes in two starts. Jaxon Raudabaugh advanced from fifth to third to maintain his own perfect podium record this season. Carter earned 11 points to Raudabaugh’s 10, extending the championship margin from two points to three.
Doug Welch delivered the biggest climb through the field, advancing from 13th to fourth to earn Hard Charger honors with nine positions gained. Welch was one of four drivers to complete all 30 laps, joining Stevens, Carter and Raudabaugh. His nine-point performance places him seventh in the championship after his first start of the season.
Kaden Rogers2 finished fifth after starting 12th, gaining seven positions in his first recorded ICL appearance. Andrew K. Bogusz placed sixth in his 10th recorded ICL start, adding seven points to his season total. Jaleel Bennett finished seventh, followed by Damen Leonard, Stephen Thomas12 and Reece Raudabaugh. Thomas also made his first recorded ICL start.
Stevens paired his victory with an 11.7126-second fastest lap, completing a strong return against the 13-driver field. He becomes the second winner in two races this season and joins Ryan Hodge and Aidan Strawberry as National Tour winners at I-55 across the series’ first three seasons.
The championship picture now has Carter leading with 24 points and Jaxon Raudabaugh second with 21. Bogusz climbs from sixth to third with 14 points, while Stevens enters the standings fourth with 12, level on points with fifth-place Reece Raudabaugh. With a maximum of 13 points available at each event, the three-point gap between the leading pair keeps both race finishes and the Quick Time bonus important as Season 3 continues.
