ICL MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

The iRacing Champions League is open to everyone, and most events can be raced for free. This page explains the difference between racing as a free driver and joining as a VIP member, including eligibility for payouts, provisionals, and member benefits.

WHO CAN RACE FOR FREE

Everyone can race for free in the majority of ICL events. Most leagues and hosted races are open to drivers, with no paid membership required to join the field, compete for points, and take part in the community. VIP membership is optional and is only needed for drivers who want access to benefits beyond standard event participation.

WHAT A MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES

An ICL membership is designed for drivers who want access to added benefits beyond standard event participation. While most ICL events are open to everyone, membership provides eligibility for features reserved for VIP drivers, including race payouts where offered, provisionals when applicable, and access to member-specific opportunities throughout the season.

Membership may also include access to the VIP Discord area, where members can stay up to date on payout information, special opportunities, and other league updates. Exact benefits can vary depending on the event or series, but the main purpose of membership is to provide added value for drivers who want to take advantage of the extra features available through ICL.

PAYOUT ELIGIBILITY

Almost all ICL events include at least a winner’s purse, with payouts reserved for VIP drivers. Non-VIP drivers are still welcome to compete in most events, race for points, and be part of the action. A minimum of $150 in member payouts is typically available each month.

VIP ACCESS

VIP members may receive access to the VIP Discord area, along with provisionals when available and other member-specific opportunities announced throughout the season.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SILVER AND GOLD?

Both Silver and Gold memberships make drivers eligible for VIP benefits such as race payouts where offered and provisionals when available. Gold membership also includes access to additional bonus opportunities throughout the year, with at least $20 in extra purse money typically offered each month through special member challenges. These bonus opportunities may include a winner’s bonus for a series event, a reward for winning two races in one night, or a bonus for charging from the back to a top-three finish. Additional challenges may also be announced in the VIP Discord.

HOW ARE PAYOUTS SENT?

All ICL payouts are sent through PayPal. Drivers who are eligible for payouts should have a PayPal account available to receive winnings.

PROVISIONALS

If a VIP driver fails to qualify for an event, provisionals may be available depending on the race. The number of provisionals offered can vary by event and will be listed in the race lobby before the event begins.
