AJ Nichols is the inaugural Atlanta Legend Car Champion after the six-round ICL series concluded with its finale at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta. Nichols entered Round 6 with the championship lead and brought it home with a sixth-place finish, ending the season with 50 points and a five-point advantage over Braxton DeWeese.
While Nichols secured the championship, Bryan Gravil owned the finale. Gravil started from the pole, earned Quick Time, set the fastest lap of the race at 15.6592, and led all 25 laps. His maximum 13-point night gave him the Round 6 victory by 0.8223 seconds over Everett Larson and put Gravil into the season standings with a win in his only start.
Larson finished second and added another strong result to his ICL record, tying his best approved finish while making his 10th recorded ICL start. He also produced the largest ICLR gain of the race, climbing 356 points from 1968 to 2324. Ryan Suralik completed the podium in third, giving him three top-three finishes in four Atlanta starts and closing the championship fifth with 38 points.
Riley Halverson II returned to ICL competition after 161 days away and finished fourth, while DeWeese came home fifth. DeWeese’s eight-point night moved him to 45 points and secured second in the championship standings. Nichols followed in sixth, scoring seven points and doing enough to protect the title.
Brayden E Carter entered the finale second in points but endured the toughest night by position change, finishing ninth after starting eighth. He still completed the championship third with 43 points. Casey Wynn was the Hard Charger, gaining two positions from 10th to eighth. Karen Breeding also returned to ICL competition after 587 days away, making her first start since February 18, 2025.
The final championship standings show how much consistency mattered across the six-race Atlanta Legend Car Championship. Nichols finished with 50 points from five starts, including one win, two Quick Times, two top-three finishes, and four top-five finishes. DeWeese finished second with 45 points, Carter third with 43, Suralik fourth with 38, and Aidan Strawberry fifth with 29.
The finale also closed a season that produced several different winners at the EchoPark infield Legends oval. Robert Taylor16, AJ Nichols, Ryan Suralik, Colt Johnson, and Bryan Gravil all earned victories during the championship, with Suralik the only driver to win twice. Nichols’ combination of race-winning speed and consistent finishes ultimately separated him from the field and delivered the first Atlanta Legend Car Championship title.
