The iRacing Champions League 410 Winged Sprint Volusia Championship reached Race 3 at Volusia Speedway Park, and the midway point of the six-race series delivered another tight battle at the front. Aidan Strawberry came out on top, earning his second career ICL 410 Winged Sprint Car win and pulling himself closer to the championship fight as the series heads into its final three races.
Strawberry started second and spent much of the race chasing Brandon Holtmeier, who started from the pole and controlled the largest portion of the 25-lap feature. Holtmeier led 21 laps and also picked up the 1-point qualifying fast time bonus, giving him a strong points night even though he came up just short of the win. Strawberry led four laps, but they were the laps that mattered most, taking the victory by 0.678 seconds.
The race for the lead became especially intense in the closing laps. Strawberry and Holtmeier raced side-by-side for the top spot with two laps to go, setting up what looked like a dramatic finish. Heading into turn one, a lapped car spun in front of the lead battle, which helped solidify Strawberry’s winning gap and prevented Holtmeier from mounting another direct challenge before the finish.
Behind the top two, Brayden E. Carter continued to do exactly what championship contenders need to do. Carter finished third, collecting 10 more points and keeping his streak of top-three finishes alive through the first three races. After winning Race 2 and finishing second in the opener, Carter now sits at 34 points, giving him a 10-point advantage over Strawberry in the standings with three races remaining.
Trey Pinder delivered one of the strongest stories of the night, finishing fourth in just his third career start and recording his best career finish. Pinder started seventh and moved forward three positions, helping him make the biggest move inside the top 10 in points, jumping twelve spots into a tie for sixth overall. Reece Raudabaugh also had a strong run, starting tenth and finishing fifth for the hard charger effort among the top finishers, gaining five spots and climbing nine positions in the standings.
The fastest lap of the race belonged to Brandon Holtmeier, who turned a 13.250-second lap while also posting the best average lap of the event among the front runners. Strawberry was close behind with a 13.307-second fastest lap, while Carter posted a 13.337. With the top three all showing strong pace, the championship battle is beginning to take shape around Carter’s consistency, Strawberry’s win total, and the growing list of drivers trying to close the gap behind them.
At the halfway point of the ICL 410 Winged Sprint Volusia Championship, Carter remains the driver everyone is chasing. Strawberry’s win moves him to second, while Seth Gregory holds third despite not racing this round. Jaxon Raudabaugh sits fourth, and Reece Raudabaugh jumps into fifth after his strong Race 3 effort. With three races remaining, the title fight is far from over, but Carter’s 10-point lead gives him a valuable cushion as the series moves into its closing stretch.
