Parker Leek picked up another major iRacing Champions League win in the ICL Non Wing National Tour at Lernerville Speedway, climbing from 13th to the victory in a chaotic 25-lap feature. Leek was credited with the win after post-race penalties changed the final order, giving him 12 race points and moving him closer to the top five in the season standings.
The race changed before the field even fully settled in, as an incident coming to the start-finish line took Hunter Sandy and Dave Hays out of contention immediately. From there, Jason Setser took command from the pole and became the early driver to beat. Setser led a race-high 20 laps and also earned the qualifying fast time bonus point, giving him 10 total points on the night.
Aidan Strawberry eventually worked his way around Setser a few laps later and led two laps, but the battle did not stay settled for long. As Setser tried to make a move back around Strawberry, the two made contact and Strawberry spun, dropping him all the way to the tail of the field. Even after that, Strawberry recovered to finish third, adding another strong points night to his championship-leading season.
Setser regained control after the contact, but Leek became the next major challenger. Leek worked his way forward from 13th and eventually got around Setser, looking like he had the race in hand. Late traffic then brought Setser back into the picture, opening the door for one more fight at the front. Setser crossed the line first, but the final scoring after penalties handed the win to Leek.
Leek’s run was the hard charger performance of the event, gaining 12 positions from 13th to 1st. He also set the fastest lap of the race with a 14.497, showing the speed that carried him through the field. Ty Gibbs3 finished second after starting sixth, while Strawberry completed the podium after the mid-race setback.
Brayden E Carter also had a strong recovery drive, moving from 15th to 6th and gaining nine spots. Doug Welch climbed from 16th to 8th, while Carter Forkenbrock2 moved from 10th to 5th. On the other side, Dave Hays had the toughest night by position change after starting fifth and finishing 16th, while Hunter Sandy fell from third to 14th.
The season standings remain led by Strawberry, who now has 140 points. Logan Prickett sits second, 22 points back, while Brayden E Carter holds third with 74 points. Brenden McGlothlin is fourth with 65, and Leek’s win moved him to 63 points, now just two points behind McGlothlin for fourth and three points ahead of Jayden Wolf. With 12 points going to the winner, one fewer point for each position behind, and one bonus point available for qualifying fast time, Leek’s victory made the top-five points fight even tighter.
