Parker Leek came through late to win the ICL Non Wing National Tour feature at USA International Speedway, making the decisive move with roughly three laps to go. Leek started fifth, worked his way into the fight, and went from third to first in the closing laps to score his 10th career ICL win in his 81st career start.
The race was controlled for much of the distance by Logan Prickett, who led 17 of the 20 laps after starting second. Prickett looked to be in position to add another National Tour win, but the closing laps brought pressure from multiple directions. Richie Gaines was the first driver to catch Prickett late, but he could not complete the pass before Leek entered the picture.
Leek made the move that changed the race when he cleared both Gaines and Prickett in the final stretch. After leading only three laps, Leek still came away with the victory by making his move at the most important point of the race. The win also made him the hard charger of the event, as he gained four positions from fifth to first.
Tanner Pettit2 had one of the most impressive recoveries of the race. Pettit dropped to the tail on lap one, but drove all the way back to second on the final lap. He also earned the qualifying fast time bonus point and set the fastest lap of the race with a 20.279. That bonus point gave Pettit2 12 total points on the night, matching Leek’s race-winning total.
Prickett finished third after leading the most laps, continuing another strong points night in the National Tour championship picture. He remains second in the standings and closed the gap to Aidan Strawberry to 10 points. With Strawberry finishing fourth, Prickett gained ground, but Strawberry still holds the overall lead with 105 total points.
Richie Gaines rounded out the top five after being part of the late battle for the lead. Brenden McGlothlin finished sixth and moved up one spot in the standings to third overall, while Noah Flory, Kenny Hoffman, Brayden E Carter, Alex Hess, Alexander Macy, and Doug Welch completed the finishing order. Alexander Macy had the toughest night by position change after starting eighth and finishing 11th.
The points battle remains tight at the top compared to earlier in the season. Strawberry leads with 105 points, but Prickett is now only 10 points behind. McGlothlin sits third, 40 points back, while Brayden E Carter and Jayden Wolf are both within five points of each other for fourth and fifth. Leek’s win moved him to 51 points, keeping him sixth and moving him closer to the top five.
With each race paying 12 points to win, one fewer point for each position behind, and one bonus point available for qualifying fast time, the late-race swing at USA International Speedway mattered throughout the standings. Leek maximized the night with the win, Pettit2 salvaged a major points total after early trouble, and Prickett kept himself within striking distance of the points lead.
