Jase Shaff returned to victory lane in the iRacing Champions League Non Wing National Tour at Park, taking control late after a wild 25-lap battle that featured three different leaders and three lead changes. The event brought in 33 cars, and the race quickly turned into one of the most dramatic finishes of the young season.

Jacob Denney looked like the driver to beat early. Denney, a previous winner in the series at Volusia Speedway Park, started from the pole, earned the qualifying fast time bonus point, and led a race-high 20 laps. His pace out front was strong, but running the tricky top side of the track kept the door open as the race developed. Denney’s fastest lap of 16.449 was also the fastest lap of the race, showing he had the speed to control the night before the late battle changed everything.

Parker Leek was the first serious challenger to Denney and was able to lead one lap during the middle portion of the race. Leek entered the night second in points and was once again in position to make a major statement, but his race changed after trouble over the turn three wall. Even after finishing seventh, Leek still stayed second in the National Tour standings, though the gap to the lead grew after Brenden McGlothlin’s strong run.

As Denney continued to work the top, another mistake brought both McGlothlin and Shaff directly into the fight. That set up a five-lap battle for the win between Denney, McGlothlin, and Shaff. McGlothlin challenged hard and was able to take the lead on multiple occasions in the battle, though he was never officially credited with leading a lap. Denney’s night eventually came undone after a slider from McGlothlin, and that opened the door for Shaff to take over.

Shaff led the final four laps and went on to score his first ICL win since November 13, 2024. It was a major career marker for Shaff, who now has 30 ICL starts and 5 career wins. After starting fourth, Shaff left Volusia Speedway Park with 12 race points and immediately moved himself into the top five of the National Tour standings.

McGlothlin finished second and left Volusia as the new point leader with 21 total points through two races. His runner-up finish, paired with a podium in the opener, moved him two spots up the standings and gave him a five-point advantage over Parker Leek. Aidan Strawberry also made a big move in the standings, climbing five spots to third after finishing third at Volusia. Logan Prickett, the Knoxville winner, fell three spots to fourth after not racing the second round.

Justis Sokol put together one of the best stories of the night, charging from 11th to 4th. In just his fourth career ICL start, Sokol earned his best career finish and moved into a tie inside the top 10 in points. Jaleel Bennett also had a strong climb from 13th to 5th, making him one of the biggest movers of the race. Doug Welch gained seven spots from 16th to 9th, while Anthony Woodhull had the toughest night by position change after starting ninth and finishing 15th.

The points battle is already taking shape after two rounds. McGlothlin has created the first real separation at the top, but Leek, Strawberry, Prickett, and Shaff are still within nine points of the lead. With the race format awarding 12 points to win, one bonus point for qualifying fast time, and one fewer point for each position behind the winner, one strong night can still completely change the top of the standings.
