Round 3 of the ICL Modified Lernerville Championship brought another intense 25-lap showdown to Lernerville Speedway, and this one had a little bit of everything—clean air speed up front, a late-race slider fest for the win, and a points picture that’s tightening as the season reaches its midpoint. With this being a Lernerville-only championship, every race builds directly on the last, and the smallest swing in results can reshape the standings in a hurry.
At the front, Brenden McGlothlin delivered the kind of complete performance that wins championships. He scored the victory and the qualifying fast time bonus point for the maximum 13-point night, and once he settled into a rhythm he controlled the pace all the way to the checkered. McGlothlin also posted the fastest lap of the race (15.460) and led every lap, turning a high-pressure feature into a statement win.
The best racing of the night came late, when Andy Hunter turned the battle for the lead into must-watch entertainment. Hunter threw several sliders at McGlothlin as the laps wound down, applying constant pressure and forcing the leader to defend. The final big attempt came with three laps to go, and it ended up sending Hunter off the track—dropping him back to third after he’d been right in the fight for the win. Even so, it was still a huge night for Hunter: he now has 4 ICL starts with a best finish of 3rd, and this was his first start since March 2024, making it one of the more impressive return performances of the season.
Right behind the winner, Aiden W Stull continued to build a championship-caliber résumé with a strong runner-up finish, keeping the pressure on the points lead. Aidan Strawberry backed up his momentum with a solid top-five and made the biggest move in the standings, climbing into third in points. And deeper in the top 10, drivers like Tanner Riedel, Brendan Makkinga, and Branson Woodward banked valuable points in a series where track position and consistency matter more every week.
This points format rewards execution in every phase—finishing position plus the bonus for qualifying fast time—and that’s shaping the storyline after three rounds. McGlothlin’s maximum-point win gives him a narrow edge over Stull at the top, while Strawberry’s rise into third adds a proven name into the title conversation. With three races remaining in this six-race championship, the fight is still wide open behind the leader—and one bad night can undo weeks of work at a track as demanding as Lernerville.
