Jesse Henderson delivered a statement win for the ICL Mini Stocks at Martinsville Speedway, taking the checkered after a packed night that saw 58 entries attempt to qualify for just 28 starting spots. With the series hitting the paperclip for a high-pressure show, the field size alone guaranteed that every lap and every point would matter. Even more surprising — the top three drivers in points weren’t in attendance, opening the door for the rest of the contenders to swing the standings with one big run.
Up front, Henderson put together a complete performance on the night he needed it most. He led key laps, stayed clean through the chaos, and sealed the win for his 3rd career victory in only his 5th career start — a win rate that’s hard to ignore. While the lead battle featured multiple faces at the front, Henderson was the one who executed when the race tightened up late, holding the pace and making sure the points haul matched the moment.
Right behind him, Adam Oxley produced one of the best stories of the event. In his first ICL start since October 2024, Oxley returned and immediately clicked with Martinsville, bringing it home 2nd for what was also his best career finish. That’s the kind of comeback result that can change a driver’s season in one night — especially at a track that demands patience and discipline while still rewarding aggression at the right time.
The podium was completed by Casey Bruison2, who kept himself in the fight all race and banked a valuable 3rd-place points night. Matt Clifton continued his strong early-season presence with a solid 4th, while Jarod Fowler2 rounded out the top five with what stood as his best career finish as well. When you combine a massive entry list, a tricky short track, and drivers delivering career nights, it’s the exact kind of race that can reshape the series picture in a hurry.
Martinsville also brought a moment that could have easily changed everything early. Pole sitter Zack Staley went around in front of the field on lap 6, and somehow the majority of the pack managed to thread through without turning the event upside down. That was a huge inflection point — because with this many cars and this little room, one early jam can ruin the night for a ton of contenders. The drivers who survived that moment, stayed composed, and kept their rhythm were the ones who ended up cashing in when the laps stacked up.
With the points updated after Martinsville, the standings now show a tightened chase beneath the absent leaders. Tucker Schroerlucke still leads, but with a missed round, the gap can shrink quickly if others stack wins and top fives. Aidan Strawberry remains second, and Robert Eversole holds third, but the biggest mover of the night was clearly Jesse Henderson, who jumped up the order with a win-level points haul. Jarod Fowler2 also made a major push in the standings thanks to that career-best top five, and Brayden E Carter remains within striking range even through a turbulent points stretch.
