Aidan Strawberry added another major achievement to his iRacing Champions League career at Lanier National Speedway Dirt, winning Round 17 of the Modified National Tour and mathematically locking up the Season 3 championship with four races still remaining. Strawberry started second, led 17 of the 30 laps and scored 12 points with the victory, pushing his season total to 157.
Noah Carpenter made an impressive return to ICL competition and gave Strawberry his primary challenge at the front. Carpenter was making his first start since April 2025 and entered the night with one career ICL victory already on his résumé. He started from the pole, earned the qualifying fast-time bonus and led 13 laps before ultimately finishing second, just 0.467 seconds behind Strawberry. Between them, Carpenter and Strawberry accounted for every lap led in the 30-lap feature.
Ryan Gofmanas also made a strong return, finishing third after starting fourth. It was his first ICL start since May 2025, and he returned with a podium finish after previously earning one career victory. Brayden E Carter charged from ninth to fourth, gaining five positions and adding nine more points to his championship total. Jared Cochran completed the top five in his fifth career ICL start, tying his career-best finish.
Kenny Douglas produced the hard-charger performance of the race. Starting 15th, Douglas climbed seven positions to finish eighth and added five points to his season total. Luke Bennett finished sixth, Darren Diggs seventh, Kody E McDonald ninth and Doug Welch completed the top 10. Nathan J Walker, who entered the event coming off his victory at I-55, finished 11th.
Strawberry also recorded the fastest lap of the race at 14.359 seconds. More importantly, the victory settled the biggest question remaining in the Modified National Tour standings. With four races left, a maximum of 52 points remains available to any driver. Strawberry now holds a 55-point advantage over second-place Brayden E Carter, meaning the Season 3 championship can no longer be taken away from him.
The championship may be decided, but the fight for the remaining positions is far from finished. Carter moves into second with 102 points, while Darren Diggs sits only four points behind at 98. That battle for runner-up is now one of the closest races in the standings. Thomas Smith IV remains fourth with 56, while Tanner Riedel and Doug Welch are tied at 49.
Kenny Douglas improved to 42 points in seventh after his charge through the field. Anthony Ely remains eighth at 23, while Jared Cochran’s top-five result moves him up 15 positions in the standings and into ninth with 20 points. Andy Hunter rounds out the top 10 with 19.
For Strawberry, Lanier marks his fourth Modified National Tour victory of Season 3 and completes a championship run built on remarkable consistency. Through 15 counted starts, he has 14 top-five finishes and has finished inside the top 10 every time. With the title now secured, the final four rounds shift the focus toward race wins and the increasingly tight battles throughout the rest of the championship standings.
