Johnnie Tucker was inches away in that photo finish and has been stacking points with repeat top-fives—exactly the profile that turns a top-five driver into a title spoiler on short like Limaland. Dalton Tournear added another podium and looks increasingly settled; in a 12-to-1 descending points scale with an extra point for qualifying quick time, a front-row start could vault him again. And don’t overlook Robert Eversole—quietly robust lately and historically tidy in these no-nonsense 18-lap runs.

From a points-angle, every qualifying session is magnified. Strawberry still holds the benchmark lead, but the battlefield just behind him has shifted. Carter’s win moved him up to third, Ben Joly remains consistently inside the top five, and Tucker‘s surge has him tied for fourth on raw points pace with clear momentum. If Joly or Tucker bag the +1 fast-time bonus at Limaland and convert it into a top-two, that’s a two-to-three-point swing before we even tally incidental gains from position. With short features and limited passing windows here, one qualifying lap often decides whether you’re fighting for the win or scraping for single digits.

Limaland’s prior winners also hint at the skills required to seal it. Bergeron (S1) won by managing traffic and exits, whereas Roy (S2) triumphed by controlling restarts and not blinking under pressure from behind. Translate that to the current field and you get a shortlist: Strawberry’s efficiency, Carter’s race-craft under fire, Tucker’s late-run speed, and Tournear’s improving execution. Add in Ducharme and Lightner—both with positive Limaland history—and you’ve got a six-deep group that could decide the podium and, with it, another small reshuffle in the title chase.
