Race five of the iRacing Champions League SLM USA International Track Championship delivered one of the most decisive moments of the season, as the six-race battle moved into its final stretch. With only one event remaining, the points picture is now sharply defined after a dramatic night that featured an early shakeup among contenders and a commanding performance at the front.

Riley Halverson II turned in a flawless drive to earn his third career series win, leading 28 laps from the pole and never giving up control. Halverson set Quick Time in qualifying to earn the bonus point, then backed it up by pacing the field throughout the feature. He also recorded the fastest lap of the race, locking up the maximum 13-point night and making one of the strongest statements of the season at a moment when it mattered most.

Behind him, Braxton DeWeese delivered another high-value result by finishing second, continuing a season built almost entirely on consistency. DeWeese collected 11 points and limited the damage on a night where several of his closest rivals failed to capitalize. With five races now complete, DeWeese still holds the points lead, but the gap has narrowed significantly as the championship approaches its finale.

Matt Schlosser produced one of his best runs of the season with a third-place finish, earning 10 points and inserting himself into the top ten of the standings. Austin Carter followed closely in fourth, while Dylan R. Courtney rounded out the top five after a steady run that added eight points to his season total. Cameron Austin made one of the more notable forward charges of the night, advancing from mid-pack to finish sixth and gaining valuable ground in the standings.

The race turned early for several drivers with championship aspirations. Both Aidan Strawberry and Davis Warren saw their nights end on lap two, resulting in minimal points and drastically altering the title outlook. For Warren, the result dropped him further back from the lead, while Strawberry’s tough night stalled what had been a strong run of momentum. With only one race left, both drivers now face a steep climb to regain lost ground.

As the dust settles, the championship picture is now clear and compelling. DeWeese still controls the standings through consistency alone, but Halverson’s late-season surge has turned the finale into a must-watch showdown. With bonus points and finishing position likely to decide the title, the final race will determine whether DeWeese can close it out or if Halverson can complete a dramatic comeback.
