The second race of the iRacing Champions League SLM USA International Track Championship delivered a major shakeup both at the front of the field and in the overall points standings. With six races making up the season, the importance of each event is already clear, and this round produced a new winner, a first-time starter making an immediate impact, and a dramatic shift atop the leaderboard.

Riley Halverson II controlled the event from the opening lap and was never challenged on his way to his first career victory in the series. Making just his second career start, Halverson capitalized on a clean run, leading 25 laps and setting the fastest lap of the race. That combination earned him the maximum 13 points, including the Quick Time bonus, and instantly placed him into championship contention after missing the opening round.

Behind Halverson, Braxton DeWeese continued his steady and consistent start to the season. DeWeese finished second and once again put together a strong points night, adding 11 points to his total. Through two races, he has yet to finish outside the top four, and that consistency has vaulted him to the top of the standings with 20 points. With four races remaining, DeWeese has positioned himself as the early favorite, even without a win.

Galen Brant Clark made a strong impression in his first career start, finishing third and collecting 10 points. Clark showed immediate pace and composure, keeping himself clear of trouble and securing a podium in his debut. Aidan Strawberry also delivered one of the strongest performances of the night, charging from 10th on the grid to finish fourth. That six-position gain made Strawberry the hard charger of the race and resulted in a seven-spot jump in the championship standings, moving him into a tie for fifth overall.

The night proved costly for several drivers with championship aspirations. Davis Warren, the opening-round winner, saw his race end early on the front stretch and was limited to a single point. That result dropped him from the points lead to second overall, now six points behind DeWeese. Owen Wilson also endured a difficult outing after entering the race second in points, falling to fourth in the standings after finishing deep in the field. With only two races complete, the championship picture has already shifted dramatically.

As the series reaches the one-third mark, the points battle is beginning to take shape. DeWeese’s consistency has given him control of the standings, but Halverson’s breakout win and Warren’s proven speed ensure the title fight is far from settled. With four races still to come at the same track, momentum swings and bonus points from qualifying could prove decisive in determining the first-ever Super Late Model Track Champion.
