Nick Leitz made his first career ICL start a winning one by capturing the 25-lap ICL Showcase Series O’Reilly race at Darlington Raceway. Leitz started second, moved into the lead and controlled all 25 laps to secure the victory over fast qualifier Carter Casey. The Darlington event was the second race contributing to the combined Showcase Series standings alongside the ARCA race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Leitz completed his winning performance by recording the fastest lap of the race at 29.953 seconds. He was the only driver to lead a lap and collected the full 12 points available for winning the race. Casey started from the pole after earning the Quick Time bonus and finished second, giving him 12 total points as well—11 for the runner-up finish and one for qualifying fastest.
Vinnie Tigner also delivered an impressive result in his first career ICL start. Tigner qualified third and finished third, securing 10 points while remaining inside the top three throughout the event. Noah Rainwater advanced from sixth to fourth, while Josef Miele completed the top five after beginning the race from fourth.
Matthew Ponte and Levi Casey produced two of the largest charges through the field. Ponte climbed five positions by advancing from 11th to sixth. Levi Casey was the race’s Hard Charger, gaining six positions after starting 13th and finishing seventh. Brayden E Carter followed in eighth, while Casey Wynn and Eddie Farness completed the top 10.
Carter Casey’s runner-up finish came in his third career ICL start and marked the best finish of his ICL career. His Quick Time bonus was particularly important because it allowed him to match Leitz’s 12-point total from Darlington despite finishing one position behind the winner.
With the points from Darlington Raceway combined with the previous ARCA Showcase race at Nashville Superspeedway, Braxton Deweese remains atop the ICL Showcase Series standings with 13 points. Deweese’s Nashville victory and Quick Time bonus have left him one point ahead of both Casey and Leitz.
The standings remain extremely close behind the leader. Jaden Bowles sits fourth with 11 points, while Larry Eddy and Tigner are tied with 10. Sam Hahn and Rainwater are tied at nine points, with Chase Lewis and Miele completing the top 10 at eight points apiece. Only five points separate first through 10th, keeping the combined Showcase Series points battle tightly packed following the first two events.
