Drake Mittag continues to be the standard in the Pro 4 Lucas Oil Off Road Championship. In Race 4 at Lucas Oil Speedway, Mittag delivered another clean, decisive win—his third victory in three starts in this championship—while leading all eight laps and keeping the rest of the field in chase mode from the opening corner to the checkered flag. With the points format rewarding every position and the extra bonus point always looming, Mittag’s ability to keep stacking maximum nights is quickly turning him into the driver everyone has to beat.
At the front, it was a familiar sight: Mittag out front and unbothered. He not only controlled the race, he backed it up with speed—turning the fastest lap of the event at 1:10.839 and pairing it with the best overall rhythm across the run. Behind him, Sean Winkler did exactly what a title contender needs to do when the leader is flawless: grab second, limit the damage, and keep the points within reach. Winkler’s runner-up finish adds to what’s becoming a season-long duel at the top, and it keeps him firmly planted as the closest threat to Mittag’s perfect run.
The best of the rest was another strong night for Aidan Strawberry, who brought home third and continued his steady climb in the standings. Strawberry’s consistency is becoming a storyline in itself—he keeps putting himself in the mix, banking big points even when the top spot is out of reach. Brenden McGlothlin finished fourth and stayed right in the heart of the title picture, while Dennis Holley rounded out the top five and made one of the biggest moves on the standings page—jumping up into a tie for ninth after adding another solid points night.
Mid-pack, the race became more about survival and execution than chasing down the leader. Drivers like Jerry Flippo, Dann Perry, and Collin Hibbon fought hard to keep themselves in the points, while rookies like Trent Rucker continued to gain valuable experience at Lucas Oil. Even with a smaller finishing group than some of the earlier rounds, the night still showed how unforgiving this place can be—one mistake in the rhythm sections can cost several positions immediately, and the points system makes every one of those spots matter.
With the championship now deep enough to show its shape, the story is clear: Mittag is perfect, but he’s not alone. After four races, Mittag leads with 39 points, while Winkler is right there on 35, only four back. McGlothlin (32) and Strawberry (31) remain in striking distance, and they’re close enough that a single tough night for the top two could immediately pull them into the lead conversation. With this being a six-race series, that means the title is far from decided—especially at Lucas Oil, where unpredictability is always one lap away.
