Race 4 of the Super Late Model Championship delivered another major twist in a season that’s becoming defined by variety up front and razor-thin margins in the standings. With four different winners in four races, Thompson has already proven it won’t crown a Track Champion easily. And now, with only two races left in this six-race chase, the points battle at the top is so close that one qualifying bonus point or a single finishing position can swing the lead.

Aiden L King put together a breakthrough night in just his second career start, scoring his first career win in the series. King started on the front row, grabbed the qualifying quick time bonus point, and led 30 laps for a maximum 13-point haul (12 for the win plus the 1-point bonus). He backed it up with the fastest lap of the race as well, ripping a 19.584 and setting the pace standard for the entire field. When the championship comes down to details, it doesn’t get much cleaner than sweeping the key categories on a race night.

Matthew Linde made sure King earned every bit of it. Linde spent much of the race on King’s tail, close enough to apply pressure and force King to be perfect lap after lap, but he couldn’t quite turn that proximity into a race-winning move. Still, it was a huge night for Linde, scoring 11 points for second and recording his best career finish. That result also proved something important for the closing stretch: Thompson is producing finishes close enough that the lead can change hands without any drama needed at all.

Behind the top two, Michael Kohler delivered an impressive debut with a third-place finish in his first career start. Noah Fredlund was one of the biggest movers of the race, charging from 9th on the grid to finish 4th and grab 9 points. Davis Warren followed in 5th, adding another steady points night to his championship résumé with 8 more points. For Warren, stacking results like that is exactly why he’s right in the middle of the title fight with two races remaining.

The race also had major implications for Aidan Strawberry’s championship defense. Strawberry got turned around in Turn 1 after contact with Kohler, putting him behind early, but he recovered to finish 6th and collect 7 points. That recovery mattered, because Strawberry still leaves Race 4 as the points leader, but the gap is now down to the smallest possible margin. In this points format, that one-point difference is literally a single finishing position on track, or the qualifying bonus.

In the middle of the finishing order, two drivers tied for the biggest forward progress of the night. Fredlund’s 9th-to-4th drive was matched by Bryan Brewer, who advanced from 12th to finish 7th. Kevin Calkins also moved forward from 11th to 8th. On the other side of the swing, Peyton Hamlett had one of the toughest nights in terms of track position, sliding from 3rd at the start to 9th at the finish. When every spot is a point, those position swings are the kind that can define a short six-race championship.

Now the standings are set for a dramatic two-race finish. Strawberry leads with 35 points, Warren is right there with 34, and the next layer of contenders is still close enough to matter if the front two leave an opening. Braxton DeWeese sits third on 24 points with only two starts logged, while King’s win launches him up three spots into fourth with 23 points. With 13 points available on a perfect night, the championship isn’t locked up for anyone yet, but the clearest storyline is undeniable: Strawberry versus Warren, separated by one point, with everything still on the line.
