James Lucas4 closed out Season 3 of the Modified National Tour with a milestone victory at Lincoln Speedway, taking the 30-lap season finale for the second iRacing Champions League win of his career. Making his 16th career ICL start, Lucas earned his first victory on dirt after starting third and working his way to the front of a race that featured two different leaders.
Andrew K. Bogusz controlled the early portion of the feature after starting from the pole. Bogusz earned the Quick Time bonus point and led 11 laps while searching for his first career ICL victory. Lucas eventually worked around Bogusz on the high side and took control, going on to lead the remaining 19 laps. Once in front, Lucas was able to open enough of a margin to secure the win by 1.073 seconds.
Gabe Griffin nearly turned the closing stages into a serious challenge. Making just his third career ICL start, Griffin charged from 16th all the way to second, gaining 14 positions to easily earn hard-charger honors. Griffin was also the fastest driver on the track, recording the fastest lap of the race at 15.603 seconds. He was closing on Lucas late, but ran out of laps before he could erase the final gap.
Bogusz finished third after his strong run at the front, collecting 10 race points plus the qualifying bonus for an 11-point night. Jason Stephens9 put together another impressive charge, moving from 11th to fourth, while Anthony Woodhull completed the top five. Jaleel Bennett finished sixth, Jayden Branscom seventh and Dennis Gile eighth.
Connor D Thompson finished ninth, with Christopher Hadden completing the top 10. The race also marked the end of a 21-round Modified National Tour season that tested drivers across dirt tracks throughout the iRacing platform. Lincoln provided one final opportunity for drivers to move through the standings before the championship positions became official.
Aidan Strawberry had already secured the Season 3 championship before the finale and finishes the campaign with 167 points. Brayden E Carter takes second with 126, followed by Darren Diggs in third with 104. Thomas Smith IV finishes fourth with 73, while Kenny Douglas ends the season fifth with 54 points.
The battle immediately behind the top five finished in a tie, with Tanner Riedel and Doug Welch both ending the season on 49 points. Andrew K. Bogusz used his podium and qualifying bonus at Lincoln to climb into eighth with 37 points. Lucas’ victory moves him up two positions to ninth with 34, while Dion Kovar completes the final top 10 with 24.
For Lucas, the finale provided a significant personal milestone: career start No. 16 produced career victory No. 2 and his first-ever dirt win. For Griffin, a charge from 16th to second in just his third career start provided another notable storyline to close the season. And for Bogusz, 11 laps led and another podium kept him firmly among the strongest drivers at Lincoln even though the first win ultimately remained just out of reach.
