The iRacing Champions League is bringing back one of the most wide-open dirt schedules we run all year: the Modified Central Regional Series returns for Season 2. It’s a 7-race championship where the driver who scores the most points across the schedule will be crowned the Central Region champion—no gimmicks, just execution week after week. And just like always, races are open to everyone with no sign-up required, found under Public Lobbies on race night.
Season 1 proved this series rewards consistency as much as pure winning speed. Aidan Strawberry put together the most complete season in the field and captured the Season 1 championship with 46 points, doing it with five solid starts and a relentless run of top finishes. Right behind him, Brandon Holtmeier finished second with 33 points, and Colton Zimmer surged into third with 22, showing how quickly a big night (or two) can rewrite the standings in this format.
The Season 1 win list was stacked with drivers who can absolutely be threats again in Season 2. The series visited six tracks last season, and six different winners came out on top: Keaton Holder (Kokomo), Christopher Joy (Lernerville), Kaleb Lomasney (Lanier), Talan Carter (Eldora), Brandon Holtmeier (Bristol), and Colton Zimmer (Limaland). That kind of variety is exactly why this series hits so hard—any given night can create a new contender, and one big points run can turn into a championship charge.
Looking ahead to Season 2, the championship battle starts with the obvious question: can anyone knock off defending champ Aidan Strawberry? He’s the standard coming in, but he’ll have pressure from proven winners like Holtmeier and Zimmer, plus a group of drivers who already showed last season they can win immediately when they show up—Holder, Joy, Lomasney, and Talan Carter all proved that. Add in a deeper field and a longer slate, and the margin for error gets even thinner.
Season 2 also expands the challenge with a fresh Florida swing as USA International Speedway joins the schedule—making this the most geographically spread-out Central Region slate yet. (And across ICL Dirt Modified regional racing overall, Huset’s Speedway is also joining the calendar for the first time this year, adding even more “new track” energy to the broader season.)
