The King of Martinsville Speedway series continued Tuesday night at Martinsville Speedway with the ARCA division taking center stage, and Dylan Schriner turned in a statement drive to secure his first career iRacing Champions League victory. Schriner started from the pole, led all 40 laps, and left no doubt about who had the field covered in Round 3. It was the ninth career ICL start for Schriner, but his first win, and it also came in his first appearance since February 10. In a series built on versatility across nine different divisions, Schriner’s return immediately became one of the biggest stories of the season so far.
While Schriner controlled the race up front, there was still plenty happening behind him that will shape the championship battle. Austin Webster2 made an immediate impact in his first career ICL start by finishing second, and he also recorded the fastest lap of the race with a 19.879-second circuit. That kind of debut instantly puts Webster on the radar going forward. Brayden E Carter added another strong run with a third-place finish, giving him results of eighth, eighth, and third across the first three races. That consistency has now carried Carter to the top of the overall King of Martinsville Speedway standings with 22 points. Marshall Campbell also impressed in his first career start, finishing fourth and showing speed right away at Martinsville Speedway.
Aidan Strawberry continued to build one of the strongest all-around starts to the season with a fifth-place finish in the ARCA round. After placing fourth in SK Mods and 11th in the Craftsman Trucks, Strawberry now sits tied for second in the standings with 19 points. Casey Wynn, who entered the race as the points leader after his second-place Truck finish, now shares that same 19-point total but slipped out of the top spot despite not being part of this race. That is what makes this format so compelling: one strong finish can launch a driver forward, but missing an opportunity to add points or not matching the pace of the front-runners can shift the title picture in a hurry.
Doug Welch was another driver who made his presence felt. He climbed from seventh on the starting grid to finish sixth, making him one of the better movers in the field, and his overall consistency helped him make the biggest move in the standings. Welch jumped eight positions in the championship and now sits tied for fourth overall with 13 points. Thomas Hailey finished seventh after starting fifth, while Durwin Westbrook, Benny Hogan, Logan Michael, and Michael Caster3 rounded out the finishing order. Among the drivers in the race, Hailey had the toughest drop by finishing two spots lower than where he started, while Schriner’s wire-to-wire performance stood alone at the front.
The points battle is now becoming one of the most interesting storylines in the inaugural King of Martinsville Speedway season. Carter leads with 22 points without a win, which shows just how valuable steady finishes are in this championship. Strawberry and Wynn are tied for second with 19, and then a three-way tie for fourth has formed between Riley Halverson II, Dylan Schriner, and Doug Welch at 13. Schriner’s win immediately vaulted him into that group, while Halverson remains in the mix off the strength of his Truck victory. Casee Sprinkle, the opening SK Mods winner, has slipped back to seventh at 12 points. With six races still remaining, the championship is far from settled, and the fight for the top spot is only getting tighter.
This ARCA round also continued the theme that every race in the King of Martinsville Speedway series can produce a new contender. Schriner broke through for a first career win. Webster nearly matched him in his debut with a runner-up finish and the fastest lap. Campbell also turned heads with a fourth-place result in his first start. At the same time, Carter kept doing exactly what title contenders need to do in a multi-division format: stay near the front, avoid the big setbacks, and keep banking points. Through three races at Martinsville Speedway, the series is already showing that the eventual champion may not be the driver with the most headlines on one night, but the one who keeps stacking results over the long haul.
