The Modified National Tour continued Season 3 at Lernerville Speedway, and Brayden E Carter made his first start of the season count in a major way. Carter started from the pole, led all 25 laps, earned the qualifying fast time bonus point, and walked away with a perfect 13-point night in Race 3 of the season.
Carter’s performance was the most complete drive of the event. With the Modified National Tour using a format that pays 12 points to win, then one fewer point for each finishing position behind, plus a one-point qualifying fast time bonus, Carter maximized everything available at Lernerville Speedway. He led every lap, controlled the race from the front, and immediately entered the season standings with a win and 13 points.
Behind Carter, Darren Diggs continued to show that he is one of the early championship threats. Diggs started 10th and drove all the way to second, gaining eight positions and scoring 11 points. After three races, Diggs now sits second in the Modified National Tour standings with 31 points, just two behind Tanner Riedel. Diggs has finished inside the top three in every race so far, giving him one of the most consistent starts in the field.
Joey Ancona also had a strong night, finishing third in his first start of the season. Tanner Riedel came home fourth after starting 12th, gaining eight spots and keeping control of the points lead. Even without winning Race 3, Riedel protected his championship advantage and leaves Lernerville with 33 points after three races. Kristopher Copeland rounded out the top five with a solid run from fifth.
Several drivers made big moves through the field. Diggs, Riedel, and Kenny Douglas each gained eight positions, with Douglas climbing from 16th to eighth. Doug Welch continued his steady start to the season with a seventh-place finish, keeping him fourth in points with 21. Trey Vannyk had the fastest lap of the race with a 15.610, while Carter’s clean race up front showed why track position was so important at Lernerville.
The biggest points story is the tightening championship battle at the top. Riedel leads with 33 points, but Diggs is now only two points back after another podium finish. Aidan Strawberry sits third with 24 points after finishing ninth, while Welch is fourth with 21. With 18 races still remaining in the 21-race Modified National Tour season, the championship is far from decided, but the early picture is starting to form. Riedel has the lead, Diggs has momentum, and Carter has now shown he can enter the season and win immediately.

The Modified National Tour is scheduled to continue with Race 4 at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway Dirt Track. No race date or time was provided.
