Round 9 of the ICL Midget National Tour delivered a high-intensity feature from the drop, headlined by a fierce, elbows-out fight for the lead between Parker Leek and Seth Gregory. The pair traded blows and door-to-door moments multiple times before Leek finally stamped control over the middle stages. From there, the #4 starter kept it tidy and fast all the way to the stripe for another statement victory in his emerging title push.
Seth Gregory was the complete package in time trials, earning the 1-point qualifying bonus, and he spent long stretches at the sharp end. Gregory led 12 laps on the night and banked a podium, but Leek answered with pace and racecraft when it mattered. Aidan Strawberry joined them on the box in second, continuing a ruthlessly consistent run that has him firmly in command of the championship with eight starts, three wins, and seven top-tens already in the bank.
Beyond the podium, the passes were plentiful. Co-Hard Chargers went to Brekton F Crouch (+8, P13βP5) and Aidan Trivette2 (+8, P16βP8), each slicing through traffic to land top-ten results. On raw speed, the benchmark belonged to Leek, who set the fastest lap of the race at 20.794 while also leading 6 laps to close the deal. At the other end of the roller coaster, the toughest night belonged to Brayden E Carter. The second-winningest driver in ICL history made his first national-tour start but was eliminated after contact with an infield tire and the backstretch wall, falling from P2 on the grid to P12 at the flag (-10).
The veteran stories continued deeper in the field. ICL mainstay Brandon Holtmeier β the leagueβs No. 3 all-time in starts β made his second appearance of the season and brought it home 19th. The points board also saw meaningful movement: Gregoryβs podium now has him up to third overall, and Brandon Dittmerβs steady night powered a massive +30 jump in the season standings, the biggest mover inside the top 20.
SCORING SNAPSHOT
With 12 points to the winner, minus one per position, plus 1 for fast time, Leekβs win nets 12 and trims the gap behind Strawberry, while Gregoryβs qualifying bonus keeps his climb intact. Strawberryβs runner-up adds another double-digit haul to an already commanding tally.
