The iRacing Champions League Midget National Tour makes its way to Volusia Speedway Park, a track that has already carved out a place in series history. With two seasons of feature events in the books, Volusia has crowned different winners each time β€” showing that the Florida half-mile is a place where no single driver holds a lock on dominance. Now, as the third season rolls into the Sunshine State, all eyes are on how the current points contenders will handle one of the trickiest ovals on the schedule.

Back in Season 1, Drew Hopkins triumphed, fending off names like Ashton Cohee and Logan Bandfield. The following year, Season 2 brought a new face to the winner’s circle as Maison Cofffey led every lap of an 18-lap main event, with Cody Parmley and JT Ferry filling out the podium. Interestingly, Hopkins β€” the inaugural winner β€” still made the field last year and came home in sixth, proving he knows his way around Volusia. While not all of these past drivers are active in Season 3, several veterans with comparable experience could play spoilers against the current championship front-runners.

Momentum heading into Volusia belongs squarely to the championship leader, Aidan Strawberry. With four wins already this season, Strawberry has consistently built points through strong top-five finishes and bonus marks. But the pressure is building: Parker Leek has been nearly flawless when he starts, scoring four wins in just six appearances, keeping himself well within striking distance. Both drivers will look to add Volusia to their win tally, but they’ll have to manage the unpredictable nature of this track where past results prove anything can happen.

Behind them, James Roselli and Seth Gregory continue to anchor the middle of the top four. Roselli has been steady with multiple top-tens, while Gregory has shown race-winning pace with two victories in limited starts. Craig Silby, sitting fifth, has made the most of just three appearances, turning each into top-ten finishes. With the field tightening further back, consistency is becoming every bit as valuable as outright speed. Drivers like Connor Mirabelli, PJ Bozowski, and a cluster of names tied on points β€” Tyler Bowman, Tucker Halliday, Kristopher Moore, James Turnbull, Mason Vincent, and Doug Welch β€” all sit just outside the top tier but could shake things up with a big result at Volusia.

The storylines are lining up: can Strawberry extend his margin with another masterclass, or will Leek’s efficiency strike again? Will one of the midfield drivers seize the opportunity that Volusia’s unique surface always seems to offer? And with just over a handful of races left in the season, every point and bonus lap matters more than ever.
