Round 5 of the ICL Tour Modified Weekly Series at USA International Speedway produced another wild chapter in the inaugural season, as Davis Warren seized the lead late to earn his third career ICL victory. What began as a two-car battle between Seth Gregory and Aidan Strawberry for the top spot ended with both drivers in the wall after contact, clearing the path for Warren to score a defining win in the five-race campaign.
Gregory led early, setting a strong pace at the front of the field while Strawberry methodically closed the gap. By the halfway mark, Strawberry made his move and briefly took control. The duel intensified as Gregory tried to reclaim the top spot, but slight contact between the two sent both drivers into the outside wall, handing control to Warren. Once out front, Warren never looked back, pacing the final laps to the checkered flag and keeping his season-long top-five streak intact.
The fastest lap of the race belonged to Aidan Strawberry, who clocked in a blistering 20.148 on Lap 6, showing that he had winning pace before the incident. The Hard Charger award went to Jeremy Clark, who powered from 17th on the grid to a podium finish in 3rd, gaining fourteen positions — the biggest move in the field. Clark’s charge through traffic made him one of the standout stories of the evening, earning his first podium of the season in only his debut appearance.
Seth Gregory recovered admirably from the contact to finish 4th, minimizing the points damage and holding on to his lead in the standings. Owen Wilson rounded out the top five with a solid run that kept his name inside the top 20 overall. Meanwhile, Craig Kamrath delivered a strong performance of his own, finishing 6th after starting deep in the field, while newcomers like Tyler Adams and Shane Pierson each added their names to the results sheet with respectable top-ten efforts.
In the standings, Gregory continues to lead the championship with 41 points, though his advantage has now shrunk to four points over Aidan Strawberry (37 pts) heading into the finale. Warren’s victory elevated him to third with 34 points, keeping him mathematically alive for the title. With one race remaining, the championship remains wide open among the top three — separated by just seven points — setting up a thrilling conclusion for the series’ first-ever champion.
