The iRacing Champions League Midget National Tour rolls into Lanier National Speedway for the next round of Season 3, and history says fans are in for another wheel-to-wheel showdown. The tight, racy confines of the Georgia dirt oval have already produced two classics in the first two seasons of the tour, and the third visit promises nothing less.

A Track Built for Drama

Lanier’s layout rewards both patience and aggression. Passing opportunities are plentiful, but the rhythm of the track means drivers must balance throttle control with precision corner entry. The results from Seasons 1 and 2 prove that no one has been able to dominate here—both races featured multiple leaders, lead changes, and finishes separated by tenths of a second.

Looking Back at Season 1

The tour’s inaugural visit in January 2023 set the tone. Mason Beinhower captured the win after a heated duel, fending off Connor Mirabelli and Dominic Chisholm in a race that saw three drivers separated by less than a second at the line. Beinhower’s pace and patience allowed him to lead eight laps and stamp his name into the history books as Lanier’s first Midget Tour winner.

Season 2’s Battle

The following year, it was JT Ferry who emerged on top, mastering the 18-lap sprint to secure victory from third on the grid. Ferry led the final 14 laps, but it wasn’t without pressure—Mitchell Huddleston and Aidan Strawberry stayed glued to his tail, making for a tense closing stretch. The race ran caution-free, further showcasing the discipline of the ICL roster at one of the series’ most demanding tracks.

What to Expect in Season 3

With two different winners in as many years, Lanier remains wide open for another fresh face to step into the spotlight. Huddleston and Strawberry, both podium finishers last year, will be eager to finish the job, while veterans like Kinser Lightner, James Roselli, and Brenden McGlothlin have proven speed but still seek Lanier redemption.

As the points battle tightens, every lap at Lanier could prove decisive. Expect aggressive sliders, three-wide scrambles, and another photo finish when the green flag drops.
